So many of us have lost friend and family, or know someone who has lost a loved one to cancer... i found this poem and felt that it needed to be shared. It is such a beautiful sentiment, and it rings so true. Cancer is a horrible disease, but it cannot take away the love and memories we shared with our loved ones. So many people have lost a battle with cancer, and still many have won... for the survivers we need to continue to have hope and faith that we will be able to conquer this horrible disease. I do... and as hard is it is to cope sometimes... i refuse to let this disease kill my spirit and destroy my memories.

I can't believe I left out the best part of my weekend?!?!

The best friday night in a long line of Friday nights. I love Jaime Rogers so much... and i love watching her shell shrimp even more ;)

Friday night was date night as jaime and I prepared a romantic shrimp dinner together that cost us $2.50 each. ( Yay for sales at SCOLARI's).Garlic and olive oil and shrimp and pasta and potatoes made quite the feast before our movie date downtown. ELIZABETHTOWN was such a good movie; and i didn't even CRY. I am so proud of me:) Kirsten Dunst is way cute and Orlando Bloom is absolutely georgeous. He's way hotter without the long blone hair and elf ears!
Thank goodness they're making a Pirates of the Caribbean 2 :) After the movie it was so nice to just hang out and watch some quality TLC ( What not to wear and Ballroom bootcamp) with Jaime. We were definate nerds on Friday night, but it was a great start to the weekend.
I miss my roomie.

It has been brought to my attention by a SUPER FRIEND that it's time for another update on the goings on; so where do i begin...

Since i'm completely immerced in the fate of the Cal Poly football team here's a little update:
*Nov.1 2005 #12CP Vs. Northern Colorado (W 31-14)
*Nov.8 2005 #9CP vs. #12 North Dakota State (W 37-6)
** Currently ranked #6 in the 1AA CP is off to a 5-1 start,
and as long as these guys stay healthy are looking forward to the Play-Off's!

Thanks to 2 weekends in a row in california I've actually been able to spend some time with good friends. Last weekend after the football game Shannon Tylia and I owned mothers. With free yeager bombs and mystery shots and lots of hot boys to dance with until the lights cam on it was an awesome night. It even had a "happy ending". Then to top off a great weekend we Shannon Rach Meg and I had a GREAT half price dinner at MOM's.

TUESDAY I GOT IN A MINOR CAR ACCIDENT.... oops ;)

This weekend there was no football :( but Cal Poly kept me busy all day saturday working cross "dry heave" country meet. NO FUN!!! But halloween costume shopping with my little sis is...and so are strawberry daqueries. Last night was the "night of the exes" at MoM's, but despite the awkwardness shannon, tylia, michelle and I managed to dance the night away.

Hooray for weekends at home and night's out with the girls... next weekend i'll be in Bozeman, Montana with the CP football team taking on the University of Montana. The midget training brigade will once again be in it's original and complete form and a charter trip will have us back in time to go out again on Saturday night. Yippee :)

Completely off the subject:

Sometimes life is unfair, and people we care about deeply are taken from us. And sometimes in these moments of grief and turmoil if we are lucky, we are able to see the lesson and the silver lining in the storm cloud. The glass is half full... we could always be less fortunate, and when times are really tough we have our good friends and our families to pull us through. If you are having a bad day.... i will promise to always lend an ear and a warm hug.

And sometimes we are very fortunate and people who have amazing spirits and strength come into our lives unannounced and allow us to see how fortunate we really are. To all of you i am so grateful.

It came to my attention yesterday as i was was mailing my FIRST graduate school application to the University of Arkansas that I really am leaving the comfort of my friends @ Cal Poly and moving onward and upward in just a couple months.
Graduation and a world of opportunity await... i can't help but be anxious and elated at all the future holds for me. But how i will miss it here at home in SLO...

This past weekend in South Dakota was a trip...

let me just start off by saying CHARTER PLANE FLIGHTS ARE AMAZING...
It was so cool to fly out of Santa Maria on our own plane with no layover and no baggage hassles... now i know what it must be like to be a part of a "real" big Division 1 football program where flights like that are the norm.

Friday afternoon we arrived in Souix Falls, SD. The weather was perfect and after dinner with the team Jim, Tyler Connie and i went to THUNDER ROAD family fun center and took on their mini golf course and the race cars. Jim and I challenged Tyler and Connie to a team match... and after winning the first 3 holes, team CP ( that was Jim and I) were never behind. It connie and tyler put up a good fight, but in the end i hit a hole in 1 on the 17th hole to secure a victory for team CP. It was awesome. After golf it was time to take on the race cars which were out of control fun. The course was awesome and they even greased the turns so we were sliding all over the place. We even took on some 15 year old punk kids that were causin wrecks all over the place.... i guess they had nothing better to do in SD.

Saturday was all about Football... breakfast with the team... College football on the jumbo TV all morning...Pre-game meal.... and hr drive to SDSU ( South Dakota State Univ.). A crazy game "BEEF BOWL 39" that had CP scoring 2 touchdowns in 6 plays and then fighting to stay on top the rest of the game but finishing with the win. There was even a Steer auction at halftime. Anyone wanna buy a cow?? Talk about a big carry on!!! After the game we got back on the busses and drove through some crazy thunderstorms back to Souix Falls, jumped back on the airplane and flew home by 4am.

Looks like the view from the bus.... I'm so thankful the storm didn't start till after the game... but that busride sure was scary with lightnigng like this all the way to the airport, high winds and pouring rain. I'm so grateful the busdriver was able to keep our bus on the road.

It was a long day, but all in all a good trip. The midget training brigade has managed to keep the 10tked team in the nation healthy thus far... We 'll be on the road again this weekend in Greeley, Colorado. Wish us luck!!

I can't believe that the summer is actually over and my last quarter ever as an undergrad begins tomorrow. This summer has been wonderful and part of me definately believed that it was going to continue forever. But, i suppose school has to start sometime so that i can graduate in december. I have to admit, I'm quite excited for my final quarter at CP. In between class and working football games/practice, there are Grad School applications to fill out, essasys to write, letters of rec to get, resume's to update, graduation announcements to send out, hanging with my sis, parties, DT, hanging with my roomates/friends...these next 3 months will fly by.

I'm glad that I was able to start the school year off with a great
LAST WEEKEND of SUMMER.
Fridayafternoon Brian came over to hang out and tell me his horrifying story about crashing his brand new motorcycle. Apparantly flying around corners at 80mph isn't the brightest idea he's ever had. The coolest part of his visit though was that I got to be the one to take the stitches out the 3 inch cuts in both his leg and elbow. I'm such a nerd. I can't believe that things like that excite me like they do, but those are the first stitches i have ever removed so it was pretty cool. Thanks for trusting me Brian. Afterwards we went to see a movie and kept it low key... after all i had a long day ahead of me on saturday.
Saturday was an awesome day. I had breakfast with my sister,megan, at splash. I can't believe we're both @ cal poly. I'm so excited for her to be here and i am looking forward to having some good times while we're both here. After breakfast it was time to start the neverendingdayoffootball. After working for 6 hours the SOLD out GAME OF THE WEEK between #11 Montana St. and #18 CP finally kicked off. If u missed this game... it was fantastic. I may be a bit biased but we dominated the entire game winning 38-10. Even our defense scored more points than their offense ( defense scored 14). Cal Poly football may be unknown and underrated, but after this weekend hopefully they will get more of the recognition they deserve. I may sound crazy, but working with this group of guys every day, I have a lot of respect for them and their abilities to play hard and to play with heart.
Finally, after the game, at 10pm i got home and changed to go out and celebrate the victory.
I met up with jaime and helya and rach for a little we went to Kenny(Teddy)-Palooza. I had a blast and wound up staying a lot longer then they did.My little sis also found her way to Kennypalooza and dragged her around the entire party introducing her to most of the team. Being the bestest sister in the world she drove me a a couple of the football boys to the bars where we finished the night dancin it up on the MOTAV dance floor. All in all it was an awesome day.

The good news is that there is still almost a full week until classes start at cal poly. The bad news is that starting this morning i had to be at school by 6:15 to get in the training room and make sure all the boys get out to practice on time. It was crazy waking up to the pitch black morning. Thank goodness 7-11 is on the way :).

I'm such the caffeine addict... i would be a walking zombie in the training room without my morning coffee. Anyway I'm feeling much more rested after a nice long nap this afternoon.

Hopefully i can get to sleep earlier tonight so that 5:30 alarm tomorrow isn't such a shock!! Wish me luck!

Last weekend I actually got to go home for the long holiday. It was the first time I've been home since June. It was great to spend time with my mom and sister and friends. The weekend included surfing in SAN O, the rainbow factory, the YARD HOUSE, Turkey Dinner, Hot Tubs, Parties, Shopping, sleeping on the couch, pool... I am so thankful for my friends and family and the good times we have when we can get together ( even if it's only a couple times a year!)

On another note... i missed last week's football game to Coach my cheerleaders in their first Competition this season in Sacramento. Another long weekend gone by...

The weekend started thursday morning with a 9 hour bus ride from Cal Poly to Mesquite, Nv with the football team. It was actually nice to leave on thursday. WE wound up staying at the OASIS resort, casino. The rooms were crazy... walls were covered in mirrors... they looked like something out of a cheezy 2 star motel. I didn't even want to imagine what kind of kinky things would go on in there. Thursday night nearly the whole team was in the casino playing black jack and craps and roulette. Most guys lost a lot of money (ex. Dan lost 500) but a couple made bank (ex. John won 900). I wasn't gambling because i conveniently lost my atm card AGAIN that morning before we left. Oh well... atleast i didn't lose any money right?? ( Ben did teach me how to play Texas Hold- em.... and we traded massages ;) )Friday we hung out at the hotel, went in the pool, went with the team to practice, came back went in the pool again ( with water slide), played miniature golf and rode the go carts. It sure is funny to watch 250 lb men ride around in little go carts and try and cut each other off. Friday night was pretty fun too... Ashlee and I rented napoleon dynamite with nick and timmy... and Lara and Haley came to visit all the way from Provo, Ut. It was soo great to see her. I hate that we only get to hang out during the holiday breaks!

Saturday = game day. Early breakfast... a couple hrs of boredom... late lunch.... 2 hours on the buses again to Cedar City Utah ( Home of the SUU Thunderbirds). The game was pretty good... a bit closer than we all would have liked, but the CP defense won the game again with an interception in the endzone with 30 seconds left on the clock to ensure the 24-27 win. CP football remains undefeated (5-0). Hooray!!

After the game Lara came on the field for a few mins to hang out before heading back to Provo... and then we all dragged ourselves to the busses for the 11 hour long ride back from Cedar City, Ut. through arizona and Nevada to San Luis Obispo... definately a miserable bus ride.

The best part about getting back at 8 am was comming home and sleeping till 2:30!!! I'm so lazy.

Well Midterms start tomorrow so I better finish studying!

Week 2 of Fall Quarter is in the Bag...Highlights:My mom and sis came to visit me in SLO this weekend. I was crazy busy but we got to hang out a little bit on saturday, they came to the football game, and brunch on sunday at the Apple Farm Restaurant was awesome. I actually finally started to talk to my mom about whether or not I'll be graduating this June. It feels good to have broken the ice on that subject even though I'm far from making up my mind. Other Highlights... drunken jaime, racho and nick at my house saturday night with my mom. Good times. I love you guys... my mom does too! Lowlights: Being Lonely sucks!

Week 1 of school is in the bag.. I went from having 18 units... to 21 units... then finally settled with 17 which is still plenty, and there's a chance i'll be able to still squeeze in a small social life. I'm really excited about this quarter and figuiring out if i'll be walking in the graduation ceremony in june or not :). I'll keep you all posted. BTW... the reason there has been nothing but posts about football on here for awhile is because for the last 3 weeks before school all I'd been doing was working/ traveling with football. THE BEST THING ABOUT SCHOOL STARTING... running into all the people you haven't seen since last year, and realizing how many people you've met since college!

I was OUT OF TOWN again last weekend in BOZEMAN, MT. Home of the Montana State University Bobcats. It was a great quick chartered trip with an awesom ending. Cal Poly FB was victorious for the 3rd straight game in their 27-14 vicotry over MSU. Go Mustangs! I'll post a couple pictures i took to commemerate the trip!

It was definately a successful weekend in Pocatello, Id for the Cal Poly Football team. Despite hours and hours on busses and planes...and playing in a dome on some of the worst astroturf in the nation... the MUSTANG football team came together for the 35-20 win over IDAHO STATE. The Mustangs improve their record to 2-0 and we'll all be on the road again this coming weekend on a trip to Bozeman, Mt. and Montana State.

Record High Temperatures in Cali this week... dang it's been hot. I'm leaving tomorrow with the Cal Poly Football team for Pocatello, Idaho and Idaho St. University. Game time is set for 6pm Saturday. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the results ;). I should have some pictures as well. Have a Great weekend everyone!!!

There's absolutely nothing better than spending Labor Day at Pismo Beach with some of your best friends... enjoying the sun, playin around, and surfing. yup i definately wish labor day was more than once a year.

I just want to let you all know that I LOVE Football season. I love the excitement of the game, the energy on the field... Cal Poly Football is off to a great start this year with a 42-7 victory over Humboldt St. yahoo!! And High School Football as we know it has changed forever as De La Salle ( unbeaten in 12 seasons) LOST to Bellvue, Wa Last night 39-20. that is all... :)

The 12 girls I coached last year... 10 of the 12 are back along with 11 brand new cheerleaders! How cute are they after winning their first competition

This week has been pretty crazy so far... With practice in full swing I'm UP at 6... at the school till lunch.. break till 3. Then It's off to the gym to coach the 21 crazy girls on my cheer team.
